Media Festival

Showcase Your Talent & Success

As a student of Communication, you will produce a wide variety of video content in the form of news reports, music videos, PSAs, commercials, and short films. The Department of Communication, Professional Educator Brenda Garton-Sjoberg, and former adjunct professor Jeff Bemiss created the Media Festival in 2002 as a way for students to share their outstanding work with friends, family, and the University community. Students also compete for top honors in Short Film, Nonprofit Video, Music Video, TV Report, PSA/TV Commercial, Radio News Reports, and Radio Personal Essay categories, ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥appK Radio Programs, Photography, and Westerner Newspaper Articles. View more photos of the .

The Media Festival is also a valuable opportunity for student’s work to be seen by potential employers, as entries are judged by local media professionals, Department of Communication alumnae, and University staff members. Many students have received internships and jobs as a result of the event. Also up for grabs are awards voted on by the general audience.

Whether you hope to build your résumé, show your work to the right people, or network with area professionals, the Media Festival has evolved into an honored campus tradition that celebrates our students’ talent.
