Communication students

Department of Communication, Media & Arts

Amplify Your Voice, Influence Change

The Communication major includes concentrations in Health Communication, Media and Journalism, or Public Relations. Communication majors pursue dynamic internships and independent studies that reflect your goals and interests. You'll also have the opportunity to study abroad in Italy for three weeks through our Summer Seminar at the Sant’Anna Institute in Sorrento, accompanied by Communication faculty.

Our outstanding faculty members have a wide range of experience in journalism, media, education, public relations, and politics.

In addition to offering a wide variety of minors in the Fine Arts, including art, music, and theatre, the department offers courses in French, Spanish, and sign language.

Students may pursue their interests in the Fine Arts outside the classroom by performing with the student theatre group Stageless Players, the improvisational comedy troupe Improv on the Rocks, and such music groups as Campus Chorus, University Singers, and Concert Band.
