Dual and Combined Degree Opportunities

A key advantage of pursuing your studies at Western New England University is the opportunity to pursue combined and dual degrees. The College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences offers many opportunities for combined and dual degrees within the COPHS and in combination with other colleges within the institution.

Dual PharmD/MS Programs within the COPHS

ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥app PharmD students are eligible for admission for our PharmD/MS in Pharmacogenomics or PharmD/MS in Pharmaceutical Sciences. Applicants can apply after at least one semester in the PharmD program and will be evaluated based on their performance to date in the PharmD program and their undergraduate academic record

The dual Doctor of Pharmacy/MS in Pharmacogenomics offers a rare opportunity for students to enter the world of personalized health care. With the laboratory research and clinical experience provided in this combined program, you can be a part of the exciting breakthroughs in therapeutics, new production methodologies, and discoveries in related fields that are saving and changing lives. Pursuing both degrees together will save time and money, as both can be earned in the time required to complete the PharmD at a savings of more than $20,000 in tuition.

The dual Doctor of Pharmacy/MS in Pharmaceutical Sciences offers an amazing opportunity for students to enter the pharmaceutical industry. From novel medications to innovative skincare therapeutics, new applications for existing drugs to breakthroughs in immunology, the field of pharmaceutical sciences is vast and growing. With the laboratory research and clinical experience provided in this combined program, you will be ready to make the most of emerging opportunities in research or industry through a customizable program that you align with your personal career goals. Pursuing both degrees together will save you a year and more than $33,000 in tuition.

Dual Degree PharmD/Business Programs

Current ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥app PharmD candidates can apply for admission for the PharmD/MBA dual degree program or the PharmD/MS in Organizational Leadership dual degree program upon completing at least one semester in the PharmD program offered through the University’s AACSB International accredited College of Business. Applicants will be evaluated based on their performance to date in the PharmD program, including their undergraduate academic record, and their exam results for the GMAT or GRE. The Doctor of Pharmacy/MBA program offers a powerful combination of pharmacy and business for those interested in the practice of pharmacy in a business or managerial environment. Pursuing both degrees will allow students to take advantage of cross credits, where 6 credits of business coursework can be applied toward the PharmD degree, and 9 credits of pharmacy coursework can be applied toward the MBA degree. Pursuing both degrees together will save you time and more than $17,000 in tuition.

The Doctor of Pharmacy/Master of Science in Organizational Leadership program offers a powerful combination of pharmacy and management for those interested in the practice of pharmacy in a business environment. Graduates of the combined degree program will receive two separate degrees, one in business and one in pharmacy. Pursuing both degrees will allow students to take advantage of cross credits, where six credits of business coursework can be applied toward the PharmD degree, and nine credits of pharmacy coursework can be applied toward the MS in Organizational Leadership degree. Pursuing both degrees together will save you time and more than $12,000 in tuition.

Combined Undergraduate/OTD Programs 

ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥app offers six-year bachelor’s/doctoral programs in collaboration with the College of Arts and Sciences. Students enroll in the Health Studies, Psychology, or Neuroscience programs as undergraduates through the undergraduate admissions process and, once accepted, begin taking coursework in the OTD program during in their senior year. Dual BS/MS in Pharmaceutical Sciences degrees

ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥app undergraduate majors in Biology, Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry, Health Sciences, and Neuroscience have the opportunity to apply to our dual degree program in MS in Pharmaceutical Sciences. The MS in Pharmaceutical Sciences has six possible focus areas, with different elective sequences, in Pharmacology/Neuropharmacology; Pharmaceutics and Drug Delivery; Medicinal Chemistry and Drug Development; Pharmacogenomics; Biomedical Sciences; and Pharmacoeconomics and Healthcare Data Analytics. Students interested in this powerful opportunity to earn an MS degree to build upon their undergraduate education should speak with their advisor or the program coordinator for additional details on the application process as pursuing both degrees together may save you one year and more than $20,000 in tuition.

Dual BS/MS in Pharmacogenomics degrees

Students in good standing in the Health Sciences, Biology, or Neuroscience majors are eligible to apply for admission to the Master’s in Pharmacogenomics degree program during their junior year after January 1. Students enrolling through this pathway can potentially earn the graduate degree in as little as one additional summer after earning their BS degree.
