From Classroom to Real-World Impact
Students take what they have learned in the classroom and apply it to a real industry problem in a Senior Design Project that caps off their engineering education. Many regional companies sponsor and guide students through the completion of their projects, which also allows them to leverage the opportunity into a full-time job. This year’s Senior Design Projects involved creating a preliminary design for an academic building. This included designing the steel frame, height configuration, determining the type of foundation the building would stand on, and environmental concerns.
Each spring, seniors present their projects to the University community at the Emerging Engineers Exposition.
