The College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences is offering our FREE 杏吧直播app-MHC Junior Golden Bear Summer Camp June 23-27, 2025! Named after Western New England’s mascot, the Golden Bear, our camp gives middle schoolers the chance to learn about careers in pharmacy, pharmaceutical sciences, occupational therapy, and neuroscience.
Campers will have the chance to gain valuable insights on preparing for careers in pharmacy or occupational therapy, explore neuroscience and other healthcare fields, and engage in hands-on activities, labs, and interactive demonstrations.
The 杏吧直播app-MHC Junior Golden Bear Summer Camp will take place from Monday, June 23 through Friday, June 27, 2025 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Center for Sciences and Pharmacy building.
Registration will open soon and will be due by April 1, 2025.
All campers must fill out the required forms before camp and review the 杏吧直播app-MHC Junior Golden Bear Summer Camp manual. We can’t wait to see you at camp!

Clinical Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice
Dr. Arin Whitman received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Duquesne University Mylan School of Pharmacy in Pittsburgh, PA. After graduation, she completed a PGY 1 Pharmacy Practice residency and Teaching Certificate program at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Mercy Hospital and a PGY 2 residency in Hematology-Oncology at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. Dr. Whitman practices at the UMass Ambulatory Care Center in the Hematology Oncology Clinic. She reviews the electronic medical record of patients on oral chemotherapy to assure every patient is on appropriate therapy and/or answers clinical questions from their prescribers/nursing. She communicates with each patient to review their specific dosing and administration instructions, side effects, hazardous agent handling precautions, and answers any questions or concerns they may have. Dr. Whitman also coordinates the 杏吧直播app Pharmacy Summer Camp where 50 Springfield-area high school students are selected each June to spend a week with us on campus to engage in hands-on activities to learn about pharmacy careers and related fields from our pharmacy and occupational therapy faculty and staff.
Clinical Associate Professor of Ambulatory Care
Marissa Ostroff received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in Boston, MA. Upon graduation Dr. Ostroff completed a PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice residency at the VA Connecticut Healthcare System in West Haven, CT. During her PGY-1 she received her Teaching and Learning Certification from the University of Connecticut School of Pharmacy. Dr. Ostroff went on to complete a PGY-2 in Geriatrics at the Durham VA Medical Center in Durham, NC. There she had the opportunity to precept PY4 students from the Campbell University College of Pharmacy and from the University of North Carolina Eshelman School of Pharmacy. Dr. Ostroff was also an adjunct instructor for the PY3 Pharmaceutical Care Lab at the University of North Carolina Eshelman School of Pharmacy. During her PGY-2 residency Dr. Ostroff also completed the Faculty Development Course in Clinical Teaching developed by the Stanford Faculty Development Center for Medical Teachers. Dr. Ostroff became a Board-Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist in 2013. Dr. Ostroff is currently a Clinical Associate Professor of Ambulatory Care specializing in chronic disease state management and renal disease. Dr. Ostroff's areas of interest include, transitions of care, geriatrics, chronic disease state management, chronic kidney disease, and long-term care.
