Western New England University's College of Engineering is pleased to announce the upcoming 2024 Emerging Engineers Expo. The event will take place on Tuesday, April 30, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Anthony S. Caprio Alumni Healthful Living Center.
The annual Emerging Engineers Expo serves as a milestone event for undergraduate students at Western New England University, highlighting the innovative projects developed by both first-year students and seniors. This year's expo promises to showcase a diverse array of projects that embody the students' journey from early exploration to professional readiness.
The event welcomes a broad spectrum of attendees, including industrial sponsors, high school students, representatives from area colleges, faculty and staff, students, and families. The expo provides a dynamic platform for networking and collaboration within the engineering community.
Featured at the expo will be two categories of projects:
Senior Design Projects: These year-long endeavors enable graduating engineering students to apply their academic knowledge to real-world challenges, ultimately enhancing the quality of human life. Many of these projects have led to groundbreaking inventions, patents, and award-winning presentations.
First-Year Smart Projects: Designed by first-year students in the College of Engineering, these projects foster a mindset of professionalism from the outset of students' academic journey. Some projects are collaborative efforts between Honors students in the College of Engineering and the College of Business, further enriching the interdisciplinary learning experience.
With over 100 projects on display, including First-Year Innovation Projects and Senior Capstones, attendees will have the opportunity to engage directly with students and explore their creative and innovative designs.
