Western New England University Sigma Nu Tau Chapter Inducts New Members

Western New England University's College of Business is pleased to announce that two students and one honorary entrepreneur have been inducted into the Western New England University chapter of Sigma Nu Tau, the national entrepreneurship honor society.

Sigma Nu Tau is a national, academic honor society for Entrepreneurship majors who perform well academically, and possess the traits of honor, integrity, and a strong entrepreneurial spirit. Sigma Nu Tau's mission is to promote, recognize, and reward academic excellence in entrepreneurship and to encourage and recognize the practice of principled entrepreneurship.

Student members of the 2022 induction class are , a student-athlete, with a double major in Entrepreneurship and Marketing Communications; and , president of the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥app Entrepreneurship Club, with a double major in Business Analytics and Information Systems, and Entrepreneurship.

Dr. Mary Schoonmaker, faculty advisor to Western New England's Sigma Nu Tau chapter, said "It is important that these deserving students, who worked hard to achieve this distinction, be celebrated, especially during these difficult times." Inductees were awarded a new member certificate, pin, and congratulatory letter.

Honorary entrepreneur members into Sigma Nu Tau are those who have contributed to the entrepreneurial ecosystem at the University and in the greater Springfield area.

is this year's honorary entrepreneurial member. A 1988 graduate of Western New England University, Jeff's business concepts for Ludlow based Loophole Brewing is to be a resource for brewery startups—an incubator for people who are aspiring to be brewers.

"The objective is to alleviate the numerous pain points associated with bringing a new product to market," says Goulet. The name Loophole is derived from the idea that prospective brewers don't need to seek their own license just yet, but can produce their beer under the Loophole name at Loophole's location.

Goulet has sponsored several ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥app internships as well as a team in the University's digital marketing class.

"It is an honor to be recognized as an inspirational entrepreneur," said Goulet. "I founded Loophole as a passion to help other entrepreneurs. It is exciting to see students engaged in helping build a business."
