Dr. Murray is an alumna of Western New England University’s Biomedical Engineering Department ’04 and the Industrial and Engineering Management Department ’18 and ’22. She worked as an Engineering Lab Supervisor at Western New England University for 10 years and joined the faculty of the First-year program in 2022. She worked as a teacher in the K-12 setting and as an environmental analyst after graduating from Western New England University. Dr. Murray is currently an Assistant Professor of Practice in the First Year Program.
Dr. Murray’s research focuses on workforce development, design for additive manufacturing, design for manufacturing, sustainable manufacturing, process improvement, project management, engineering education, and culturally sustaining and responsive pedagogies. Her research interest involves medical manufacturing, embedded sensor systems in medical devices, and quality system regulation of medical devices. Dr. Murray’s work has been funded by Kern Entrepreneurial Engineering Network (KEEN), the American Society for Engineering (ASEE), and the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative Technology & Innovation Ecosystem Awards Program.
Dr. Murray has published papers in professional conferences. She is a member of the American Society for Engineering (ASEE) and the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE).
