Faculty in the CS & IT department have active research programs. Dr. O'Neill is investigating computational models of suspense and surprise in narrative to better understand how people respond to stories. Dr. O'Neill has an active student research group that supports this effort.
Drs. Jackson and Ellis have received several NSF grants to investigate student learning within Humanitarian Free and Open Source Software (HFOSS) (). This effort has received over $1 million in NSF funding and provides the opportunity for students to participate in an active research program.
