Pre-Physician Assistant

The Western New England University Pre-physician Assistant program is a stepping-stone to becoming a valued caregiver in the healthcare field. Our three-year program provides an opportunity for qualified students to prepare for admission to the Salus University Physician Assistant Studies program. After a successful admission to Salus, you will have the opportunity to be awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Sciences from Western New England and a Master of Medical Science from Salus through our 3+2 articulation agreement.

What Will You Study?

In the Pre-physician Assistant program, you will be immersed in the study of biology to understand the basic structure and functioning of cells and organisms. You will take courses in General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Anatomy and Physiology, Biochemistry, Genetics, and Physics, as well as courses in the general liberal arts curriculum. With a strong emphasis on lab work, you will have access to the modern labs and equipment of the Center for the Sciences and Pharmacy.

Agreement with Salus University

Students who have successfully completed the Western New England University Pre-physician Assistant program requirements can be considered for admission to the Salus University Physician Assistant Studies program, which leads to the Master of Medical Science.
