Candidates admitted to the MS in Engineering Management program with the intent of pursuing the dual degree program will work with their advisor to select the appropriate MBA courses to satisfy elective requirements. These MBA courses will later count toward your MBA degree requirements. Dual degree candidates will typically apply for admission to the MBA program upon enrolling in their last graduate term for the MS in Engineering Management program. The GMAT will be waived for dual degree applicants. Candidates who have not satisfied the MBA prerequisites requirements will need to do so for full admission to the MBA program. The prerequisites include the following: accounting, finance, and statistics.

Admissions Process

You will pursue a well-rounded curriculum in both business and engineering courses. Topics include Engineering Supply Chain Management; Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis; Decision Support Models; Information Technology Management and Applications; and Leadership, Problem Solving and Decision Making. The combined degree will require as little as 48 credits of coursework, taking advantage of 18 cross-credits from the two programs (nine credits from the College of Engineering and nine credits from the College of Business).

*MBA credits completed after MSEM. Candidates will need to satisfy all MBA prerequisites before enrolling in the MBA program. They include: Accounting, Finance, and Statistics.

The MSEM/MBA dual degree program can be completed entirely online, however, the MS in Engineering Management provides the option to attend evening in-class sessions, while the MBA is offered 100% online. Online courses are delivered via Web conferencing software and Kodiak, Western New England’s easy to use online learning management system.
