What Will You Study?

To satisfy requirements for an advanced degree in construction management, you will take seven core courses that will include Construction Management; Materials Selection, Cost Estimation, and Bidding; Engineering Cost Analysis; Legal Aspects of Engineering; Occupational Safety and Health; and others. Prior to the completion of your first four courses, you will choose a faculty advisor and plan of study for the remainder of your program. Master’s candidates will select from three options: 1) an all-course option, 2) a project option, which includes advanced coursework and a final presented project, and 3) a thesis option, that involves advanced coursework and a thesis with presentation.

Choose Your Path: All-Course, Project, or Thesis Options

You can choose from three options to complete your MS in Construction Management degree. With the All-Course option, you will complete 10 graduate courses that include open electives from which you will choose from courses in Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering as well as Engineering Management or Business. Through the Project or Thesis options you will work with a faculty advisor to take a deeper dive in a topic of interest, culminating in your final report and presentation.

Whether you are interested in full-time study or you are a working professional pursuing your studies part-time, our year-round, four-term structure will allow you to accelerate your studies. Finish in as little as one year studying full-time and as few as 21 months studying part-time. Classes are held on-campus in the evening with many of the course offerings available fully online.
